Day 10: Christ Alone

A Favorite Hymn that has Special Meaning for Us:

Christ Our Hope in Life and Death

Some hymns meet us not just in worship,

but in the deepest places of our lives.

For Dwaine and Mary Jo Abbe, one hymn that holds special meaning is “Christ Our Hope in Life and Death.”

Its words speak plainly and powerfully to the heart of our faith — that no matter what we face, our hope rests securely in Christ.

The hymn reminds us that our confidence is not found in circumstances, our own strength, or certainty about the future, but in the unchanging promise of God’s presence. In moments when words feel insufficient, the truth of this hymn proclaims that Christ is with us, that Christ is enough, and that nothing can separate us from His love.

Singing these words together is a declaration that whether in joy or sorrow, in life or in death, our hope remains anchored in Christ alone.

Today’s memory invites us to rest in that same promise — to place our lives, our fears, and our futures into God’s faithful hands, trusting that Christ walks with us every step of the way.

Core Value: We Are Christ Centered

A Prayer for Today:

Gracious God,

We thank you for being our hope in every season of life. When the road ahead feels uncertain, remind us that we are never alone. Help us to place our trust in you — in life and in death — and to rest in the promise that nothing can separate us from your love.
Hold us, guide us, and give us peace as we walk by faith. Amen.
