Day 2

Making a Joyful Noise — Together

One of my favorite memories of Shepherd of the Hills is being part of the infamous Bottle Band — officially known as the Lutheran Tabernacle Bottle Blowers. What started as a simple idea quickly turned into something unforgettable.

Armed with kazoos, bottles, and a wonderfully wacky wardrobe, we discovered that you don’t need traditional instruments to make a joyful noise — just a willingness to laugh, play, and be part of something together. The music may have been unconventional, but the smiles and laughter it brought to the audience were very real.

Moments like these remind us that church isn’t just about what happens on Sunday mornings — it’s about the friendships formed, the shared laughter, and the joy that comes from showing up and being connected to one another.
