Day 3: Hope That Met Us at Home

One of my favorite memories of Shepherd of the Hills is:

During the uncertainty and isolation of COVID in 2020, one of my most meaningful memories of Shepherd of the Hills was how Pastor Jeff and Kris brought love and hope into our homes from their own home through their 7:7 Devotionals.

Through simple videos filmed at their home, they shared words of encouragement, scripture, prayer, and music — gentle reminders that even when we were physically apart, we were still deeply connected as a church family. In a season marked by fear and distance, those moments offered reassurance, comfort, and the steady reminder that God was still present and at work among us.

It was a powerful expression of care — meeting people where they were, speaking hope into uncertainty, and pointing us back to God’s promises when we needed them most.

Core Value: We Are Christ Centered

Pause for a moment today and offer a prayer of thanks for the ways God sustained you during difficult seasons — and for the people who helped carry hope to you when you needed it most.

You might also reflect on Isaiah 41:10, a reminder of God’s presence and strength in times of fear.

So do not fear, for I am with you;

    do not be dismayed, for I am your God.

I will strengthen you and help you;

    I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
