A CHRISTMAS BLESSING - DAY 3

Day 3 is a wrap, and we were able to bless 41 families with all they need to have a Merry Christmas this year with their 104 children collectively. What does that mean? It means moms and dads shopped for free in a manner that treated them with dignity and respect. They were welcomed, prayed for, loved on, and cared for, not pitied, or shamed which can often be how they feel when seeking help and social services.

Many parents were quickly overwhelmed after they arrived at their Christmas Blessing appointment. They didn't know what to expect, but being treated so well and having an abundance of gifts to truly "shop from", wasn't in their imagination apparently. Then there was the wrapping paper, the boxes of groceries, the stocking stuffers, and the overall feel of Christmas that was created. Getting all of this to happen is close to a Christmas miracle! It is only possible because of the generous support of the Central FL community and the power of prayer.

Thank you friends, volunteers, partners, and donors. You are our champions! You genuinely care about your neighbor. But the work doesn't end with the Christmas Blessing event, it just switches to a different phase. There is clean up to do, bills to pay, programs to fund, coaching appts. to schedule, and food to distribute. A Christmas Blessing is an event that is part of the way we serve underemployed families, but their future is changed after Christmas through increasing their income and continuing to reduce their expenses.
