Day One: Opening the Door to Opportunity, June 16 | Sheraton Denver Downtown
The 2025 GlobalMindED Conference kicks off with a powerful day designed to ignite leadership, expand networks, and lay the foundation for a transformative week.
Pre-Conference Coaching: Growing Your Impact
Day One begins with Coaching Skills from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. While this session is designed to help leaders motivate, connect, and inspire students, it is equally valuable for growing managerial skills in professional settings. Attendees engage in hands-on exercises that strengthen their ability to lead with empathy, communicate with clarity, and cultivate trust within teams.
First Gen Leadership Program
The First Gen Leadership Program offers a full-day experience for students and early-career professionals to build confidence, vision, and community. Through interactive sessions, participants learn from accomplished leaders who share how they turned obstacles into opportunities. Topics include navigating the professional landscape, amplifying personal strengths, and leading with purpose.
Trustees Leading in Turbulent Times
In the afternoon, trustees and senior leaders explore how boards can guide institutions through change with integrity and foresight. The session, led by Dr. Mary Papazian, highlights the unique responsibilities of board governance and the strategic role trustees play in driving long-term success for leaders, faculty, staff, students, and alumni.
Opening Reception and Exceptional Leaders Awards Dinner
The evening launches the conference with the Opening Reception and the annual Exceptional Leaders Awards Dinner. This special event honors leaders from a wide range of sectors—education, health, technology, the arts, and more—whose work reflects courage, innovation, inclusive values and meaningful impact.
From coaching and collaboration to recognition and reflection, Day One sets the tone for a conference rooted in purpose and progress.
