Day of Fasting & Community Rosary Friday, May 13 Feast of Our Lady of Fatima

In response to threats of violence from pro-abortion activists, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops is inviting Catholics around the country to join in fasting and praying the Rosary on Friday, May 13, the feast of Our Lady of Fatima. At St. Mary Parish, we’re asking that this Friday, Feast of Our Lady of Fatima, be a day of fasting and a community Rosary at 12:30 PM, right after the noon Mass. Parishioners not able to attend at that time are asked to pray the Rosary at some point during the day for the same intentions.

Each year on May 13, the Catholic Church celebrates the Memorial of Our Lady of Fatima, which recalls the apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary to three shepherd children in Fatima, Portugal, just over 100 years ago. In the apparitions, the Blessed Mother asked the children to pray the Rosary every day for peace in the world, promising, "In the end My Immaculate Heart will triumph."
