Encouraging Literacy
Story Pirates are coming to Minneapolis!
The Story Pirates aren't your typical swashbuckling sailors. They don't steal gold, pillage villages, or claim land; They search for a different kind of treasure: kids' wildest, most imaginative stories.
Started in 2004, Story Pirates encourage kids to submit original stories prior to their shows.  Kids may see their stories come to life on stage as part of their family-friendly comedy show.

Thanks to Jeffery Niblack for bringing this to our attention.  What a great way to encourage literacy in a fun and unique way.  More information is available at

Theology of Legos
As we plan for summer Sunday School, we are finding really fun resources using Legos for storytelling.  If you have Legos that are no longer being used in your home, would you consider donating them to Hennepin Kids?  Donations may be left at the reception desk and labeled, "Attention:  Lynne Carroll."
