A New Look
The Maine Women’s Fund keeps getting better.. and so will our newsletters. We’re focused on:
- Thought leadership. We actively meet with economic experts, policy makers and civic and corporate leaders throughout the state. We will keep you updated on these conversations.
- Grantees. We help nonprofit organizations grow and thrive. We will share our grantees stories and successes so that you can see how we’re making a difference in the lives of Maine’s women and girls.
Thought Leadership: Are We Still Doing This?
We trust women. We trust them to know when it's time to keep a secret and when its time to let it out. One in six women and girls are sexually assaulted, and not all of them are ready to come out and let us know. There are good reasons for this - look at what's playing out on the national stage today. #MeToo, #TimesUp, another story, another hashtag. We are more than hashtags, and the violence we bear should be told, attackers should be arrested, and we should thank those women for their strength. Instead, they are called names, bullied, run out of their homes, jobs, or worse.
Are you a survivor organization? Do you need some help right now? Apply for one of our Swift Social Justice grants - we want you to be able to reach as many women as possible, and for those women to know they can count on you. Call or
