Days of Caring: May 12 & 13th

We need painting supplies!

IAM is participating in United Way of Henderson County’s annual Days of Caring again this year on Friday and Saturday, May 12 and May 13th. In addition to our staff and volunteers who have signed up to help with Stamp Out Hunger, teams of volunteers have signed up to help IAM with landscaping, painting, reorganizing our kitchen and sorting for the IAM Thrift Store.

If you have some quality painting supplies (rollers, drop clothes, quality paint brushes, masking tape and gift cards to purchase paint and landscape flowers) you would like to donate, please drop them off at IAM by Monday, May 8th.

Many thanks to all the volunteers who have signed up to help IAM during these community-wide days of giving back. We look forward to working alongside you! Questions? Call Diana at 828-697-7029.

Stamp Out Hunger Drive: Saturday May 13th

The annual day before Mother’s Day National Letter Carriers Drive, coordinated by the US Postal workers and United Way, is just around the corner.

Please join the letter carriers and volunteer efforts and place a plastic bag with nonperishable food items on your mailbox or beneath it on the morning of Saturday, May 13th.

The food collected from this drive benefits three local food pantries run by IAM, the Storehouse and Salvation Army. Thank you for donating and helping the thousands of food-insecure children and adults living right here in Henderson County!

IAM Thrift Store Spring Fling Sale!

May 19-20

IAM's Thrift Store recently celebrated its first anniversary - and it was an exceptional first year!

Thrift Store Manager, Kathy Yaw, and her team have already established the store as one of Henderson County's premier thrift stores featuring quality merchandise at exceptional prices. Best of all, every dollar spent at the store goes straight to programs supporting our neighbors in need.

The Thrift Store will be celebrating with a Spring Fling Sale on May 19th and 20th. Everything in the store will be 20% off, there will be a fine jewelry sale, and refreshments will be served.

Be sure to stop by soon to see for yourself all the great things happening at IAM Thrift Store. 119 Jack Street (behind IAM's offices). Open Tuesday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

IAM's Mobile Pantry

Reaching More of Our Neighbors

IAM's Mobile Pantry truck continues to significantly enhances IAM’s ability to reach communities in Henderson County that are most at risk for food insecurity. The food distributed is free and includes nutrient-dense food items including fresh produce, meat, and dairy products.

Our May schedule includes locations throughout Henderson County to better reach the individuals who are dealing with food insecurity.
