Dayton Bar Association Statement on Race and Our Community
In recognition of the important and urgent need to discuss race, our legal system, and the administration of justice, our Dayton Bar Association encourages its members to continue to serve in their roles as community leaders and facilitators for peaceful and constructive dialogue and action furthering justice and equity. We are committed to the rule of law and our core Constitutional principles of equal protection, due process, freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, and our other inalienable rights which support and protect our diverse and dynamic society. We value the diversity in the Dayton region and in our legal community. We must listen to and learn about the concerns, problems, and life experiences of each other. And we must unite in our shared professional commitment to eliminate racism and discrimination and to address those actions and systems that stifle the fulfillment of the ideals of our nation’s commitment to law, equality, fairness and justice for all.

We encourage our members to address these issues, either by continuing their present efforts or by seeking new opportunities to expand and extend their efforts.

The Dayton Bar Association currently offers many resources and opportunities for members to promote diversity and equality under the law. Click on the links below to join and participate:
