Postscript from the Office of Advancement:

Email we received from Joe Lemon '71:

"In the August 29th edition of the DeMatha Express, there was a mention that Peter Brown, class of ’24, had just completed the VMI (Virginia Military Institute) matriculation week. It is actually known as 'Hell Week.' This is no small feat as many Keydets 'wash out' during this week.

VMI may be the toughest military school in the country. This past Saturday, our youngest daughter, Mary Grace, celebrated her 10-year reunion at VMI. She is a proud member of the class of 2014 and a captain in the U.S. Army. During halftime of the football game, I searched for 'Rat' Peter Brown (a 'Rat' is the affectionate name for a VMI freshman). I found Peter and told him how proud I was of him and that our DeMatha bond was real. Class of ’71 and ’24. Truly One DeMatha."
