Device Distribution Continues:  Elementary  device distribution will take place on Wednesday, April 1 from 1 PM - 4 PM at different locations, depending on schools. Families/students prioritized for device distribution will receive a personalized email and code tomorrow, along with specific directions on where to pick up their device.
Child Nutrition
We have been happy to provide meals to children in the DeSoto ISD community and on April 1, we are expanding our meal service locations. In addition to opening more meal distribution sites, the food service governing agencies have relaxed the rule that students must be present to receive meals.

Students no longer have to be present with a parent during meal distribution if the parent can provide any of the following verification methods to staff at the distribution site:

  • Official letter/email/electronic school application from school listing children enrolled
  • Individual student report cards
  • Attendance record from parent portal of the school website, printed or electronic, that includes the name(s) of the child(ren)
  • Birth certificates for children not in school
  • Student ID cards

The packaged meals will be distributed in a drive-thru fashion, so no one will need to exit their personal vehicles, but all participating children must be present, or in the vehicle. Children do not have to be a student at the campus to qualify for the meal. Meals are served by door access, sometimes on the side of the building so keep an eye out for tables set up outside. Free meals for children 18 and under will be served at:
  • DeSoto High School - Freshman Side
  • Cockrell Hill Elementary School (Starts April 1)
  • Frank D. Moates Elementary
  • The Meadows Elementary
  • Ruby Young Elementary School (Starts April 1)
  • Woodridge Elementary (Starts April 1)
  • Amber Terrace DDC - Food Truck
Meals will be served from
9:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m.
Monday- Friday
Breakfast: 9:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m.
Lunch: 11:00 - 1:00 p.m.
