As a member of the BCSLS, we would like to invite you to nominate yourself, or a colleague, for a position on the BCSLS Board of Directors.

Your current Board of Directors has been hard at work carrying out strategic planning sessions with the goal of developing our direction and vision for the future of the BCSLS. We are a "hands on Board" with Board members actively participating in, and leading, BCSLS initiatives. We’d love for you to bring your skills, knowledge and enthusiasm to our Board of Directors as we implement our new strategic plan.

The BCSLS Bylaws stipulate that members can be nominated to be a Director at Large, and then the new BOD assign positions for each Director.

How to put forward your candidacy:

• Nominate yourself by going to our Board webpage and clicking on that link in there
• Send your Letter of Intention to bcsls@bcsls.net
• All submissions will be given to the Elections Committee.

Please follow the guidelines below and include the following in your Letter of Intention:



• Write in first person.

• An introductory statement(s).

• What motivated you to express interest in joining the BCSLS Board of Directors?

• What specific attributes/experiences do you deem applicable/beneficial to being

on the BOD?

• What do you deem are our current issues as a professional association?

• Provide a Bio:

o A summary of your most important professional highlights.

▪ An overview of you without specific dates or detailed duties.

o It is helpful to add personal details (hobbies, family life, funny details about

2026 Deadlines and timelines:

• July 08 - August 07: BOD nomination submissions
• August 09: Deadline for submitting the Letter of Intention
• August 20: Voting starts. Emails will be sent to our members with a link to vote
• Sept 6: Voting ends
• Sept 25 at the BCSLS AGM: The New Board will be announced!
• After the AGM, your BOD term begins.
