The 2026 New Jersey State Council on the Arts Individual Artist Fellowship rules and instructions and application are now available! State Fellowships – ranging, in the past, from $3,000 to $31,000 - are awarded to practicing New Jersey artists through an anonymous, competitive application process to help them pursue their artistic goals. The categories for this grant cycle are:

Printmaking/Drawing/Book Arts

Call for artists and artist teams! The 250 Years of New Jersey digital exhibition is part of a large-scale public art project at Newark Liberty Airport’s Terminal A, focused on creating a transformative customer experience offering a distinctive New Jersey sense of place. Deadline: July 29, 2025.

The New Jersey State Council on the Arts, created in 1966, is a division of the NJ Department of State and a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts. The Council was established to encourage and foster public interest in the arts; enlarge public and private resources devoted to the arts; promote freedom of expression in the arts; and facilitate the inclusion of art in every public building in New Jersey.
