Charles County Arts Alliance Deadline Nears - January 31, 2025 - Eight $2,000 Arts Scholarships
La Plata, MD – The deadline is approaching soon for the Charles County Arts Alliance (CCAA) annual Arts Scholarship Program. In 2025, the CCAA is offering eight $2,000 scholarships to highly qualified and talented graduating high school seniors. This prestigious competition is open to all Charles County public, private, and homeschooled seniors who are pursuing an arts-related major at a four-year college or university. The arts-related majors include music, visual art, drama, dance and literature.
These Arts Scholarships are designed to support college-bound students in their artistic endeavors and academic pursuits, fostering the next generation of leaders in the performing, visual, and literary arts. Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Be a graduating senior from a public, private, or homeschool program in Charles County.
- Pursue an arts-related major at a four-year college or university.
- Maintain a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0.
CCAA Arts Scholarship applicants must submit the following materials:
- A detailed resume highlighting artistic, extracurricular, professional, and/or community service activities.
- A 300-word essay including the name of the intended college or university, the intended arts major, and the reason for pursuing an arts-related degree.
- Two letters of recommendation:
- One from a teacher familiar with the applicant's artistic achievements.
- One from a teacher familiar with the applicant's academic achievements.
- An official transcript verifying a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- An audition tape or portfolio, depending on the applicant’s artistic discipline.
Scholarship applications and all supporting materials must be submitted by NLT 12:00 noon on Friday, January 31, 2025. Late or incomplete scholarship application packages will not be considered.
