Deadline Extended for 2019 Freshy Award Nominations
Nominate a CalFresh Champion from your Community!
The annual "Freshy" Awards honor the actions of individual Californians and organizations that have worked diligently in the last year to improve CalFresh. CFPA will collect information about each nominee in order to develop a voting ballot that will be distributed in February. Based on your votes, the Freshy Award winners will be announced at the
2019 CalFresh Forum.
California Food Policy Advocates (CFPA) and the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) would very much like for you to join us at the 2019 CalFresh Forum on March 6, 2019 in Sacramento!
Each year, CFPA's CalFresh Forum brings together hundreds of key stakeholders from across the state to identify opportunities and discuss strategies to improve the reach and impact of CalFresh. The 2019 CalFresh Forum will focus on upcoming opportunities to improve how CalFresh serves vulnerable populations as we look to the future and continue to work toward improving access and participation across the state. This year's program will feature a special focus on the upcoming reversal of the state's SSI "Cashout" policy and opportunities for administrators and stakeholders to work together to ensure a smooth and successful rollout in summer 2019. Workshops and panels will be led by speakers with varied and extensive policy and programmatic expertise.
The event agenda and presentation topics will be available soon on
CFPA's CalFresh Forum webpage, where you can easily register online and learn moreabout the Forum. We are asking for a $50 registration fee to help cover the costs of organizing and hosting the event. The registration fee includes your attendance, lunch, and light afternoon refreshments.
