Volume 16, Issue 2

April 30, 2025

Dear Rae,

The Spring edition of PARA’s informative newsletter, Paraphernalia, is in production, our website content is expanding, and PARA’s Annual Meeting and Board members’ elections are coming up. This is a courtesy reminder that you need to make your 2025 dues payment by May 16 to receive PARA’s newsletter and a ballot to vote in the annual Board elections.

Following several advance advisories to all members, only those who have paid dues for this calendar year have unfettered access to the following sections on PARA’s website: Benefits, back issues of PARA’s newsletter and eBulletins, PA news updates, In Memoriam, and 9/11 and February 26 memorial content. In addition, only paid members will receive PARA’s printed newsletter and eBulletins with time-sensitive information about benefits and events, and will be eligible to get personal help with PANYNJ and PATH benefits questions from PARA’s knowledgeable volunteers.

Our records show that we have not received your 2025 dues payment. Your email address is in our records, which makes it easy for you to pay your dues by credit card on PARA’s website. We encourage you to go to our website (www.paranynj.org), then click on Member Login at the top of the page. Enter your email address and your password. Then click the Pay Dues tab on the following screen to pay the $20.00 annual dues by credit card. Note that the credit card payment process is safe, secure and Payment Credit Card (PCI) compliant. PARA does not retain your credit card information. Once you have completed your payment, your personal PARA account will update your dues payment history immediately.

If you are logging in for the first time, enter your email address as your user name. In the Password space, enter the zip code in which you receive PARA mail. You may also reset your password to one known only to you by clicking the Reset Password button. Once logged in, click the Pay Dues tab to make your payment. There is still an option to pay by check but it must be mailed as soon as possible to allow delivery, PO Box pickup, and hand-processing time to be credited no later than May 16.

Though PARA has not restricted services previously to members who have not paid dues regularly, the organization has increasing operating expenses for such things as website and database management, newsletter design, printing and postage, accounting and other administrative costs. PARA is run by an all-volunteer Board with no paid staff and relies solely on membership dues and contributions to support operations.

The strength of PARA lies in the collective power of its thousands of members. Your dues and contributions make it possible for PARA to continue its mission to promote and protect the welfare of its retiree community. If you have paid your dues in recent days, no further action is needed on your part. Thank you very much for your support.

Sincerely,

Your PARA Board
