FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Deadline to request a vote-by-mail ballot for 2020 Presidential Preference Primary, City of Gainesville Regular Election
ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. (March 5, 2020) — The deadline to request a vote-by-mail ballot for the 2020 Presidential Preference Primary and City of Gainesville Regular Election is 5 p.m. Saturday, March 7.
Until the deadline, vote-by-mail ballot requests will be filled as they are received. Any voter can sign up to vote by mail — no reason or excuse needed.
Return postage on all Alachua County vote-by-mail ballots is prepaid. No stamp is required to return a vote-by-mail ballot. Vote-by-mail ballots must be returned to the Supervisor of Elections Office by 7 p.m. on Election Day, which is March 17.
Voters may drop off their ballots any time at the Supervisor of Elections Office using the office’s secure, white afterhours dropbox, located outside the office near North Main Street.
Voters who believe their signatures may have changed over time should complete a new voter registration application. A signature update must be submitted prior to the office’s receipt of the voter’s vote-by-mail ballot in order for it to be in effect for this election.
Vote-by-mail ballot requests can be made through two General Elections, meaning voters will be able to request ballots through the 2022 General Election.
For more information, contact the Supervisor of Elections at 352-374-5252.
