Jackie Spanitz has been named General Manager for Aviation Supplies & Academics, Inc. (ASA), effective January 1 2018. ASA is the leading publisher of aviation books and the largest producer of pilot supplies in the United States.
Ms. Spanitz has been with ASA for more than 24 years, working for ASA President and Owner Mike Lorden throughout her tenure. Starting in Marketing and Technical Support, she most recently served as Director of Curriculum Development overseeing maintenance and development of the more than 750 titles in the ASA product line and integration of these products into new and existing curricula. Jackie says, “These materials are used around the globe in all aspects of aviation training environments, including aircraft manufacturer, airlines, ab initio, universities, STEM programs, and at local airports. Aviators rely on ASA materials for FAA Knowledge Exam and checkride prep, regulatory compliance, self-study, ground school and flight training. It’s been a fast-paced evolution within the aviation industry over the last quarter-century and a privilege to continue working with our fantastic team of professionals and subject matter experts. ASA has provided me the opportunity to merge my passion for aviation with my love of books and learning.”
Jackie has worked with the training and testing associated with airman certification for more than 20 years, and has participated in a number of FAA/Industry Aviation Rulemaking and Advisory Committees (ARC and ARAC), including the Airman Certification Standards Working Group. Ms. Spanitz holds a Bachelor of Science in aviation technology from Western Michigan University, a Masters in Aeronautical Science from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, and Instructor, Commercial, and Remote Pilot certificates.
