New FAA Instrument Procedures Handbook!
A new edition of the FAA's Instrument Procedures Handbook (FAA-H-8083-16B) has been released. Designed as a technical reference for all pilots who operate under instrument flight rules (IFR) in the National Airspace System (NAS), the Instrument Procedures Handbook expands and updates information contained in the Instrument Flying Handbook (FAA-H-8083-15B) , and introduces advanced information for IFR operations. This handbook provides real-world guidance on how instrument-rated pilots can best use the system they've trained for, as well as in-depth coverage of instrument charts and procedures for IFR takeoff, departure, en route, arrival, approach, and landing.
Last updated in 2015, this 2017 edition includes updated graphics, editorial wording changes for clarity and consistency, and updated terminology to reflect current rules and procedures. In-depth sections on instrument charts and procedures cover all phases of flight from takeoff to landing. Instrument flight instructors, instrument pilots, and instrument students will also find this handbook a valuable resource.
