ASA has assigned 12 digit Unique Product Codes (UPC), also called GTIN-12 and UPC-A, to all existing products and pilot supplies that do not have ISBNs. Much like an ISBN, these unique product identifiers will assist marketing efforts, making products easier for customers to find.
New ASA books will continue to have ISBNs assigned, while new non-book products will be assigned UPCs. UPC information will be provided via dealer bulletin similar to the way ISBN information has been in the past (see table below). A list of ASA products and their associated UPCs can be
