NEW: COVID-19 Updates

Update on Weekend Status
St. Mark's School will remain in the Orange phase through the weekend. We are modifying our approach to the Orange phase and will now allow boarding students to leave their rooms for weekend activities in groups, organized by House. Specific information will be communicated to the students directly through the Dean’s Office.

Day students are being tested on campus today, Saturday, January 30. Day students should come directly to the MFAC for testing and leave campus immediately after their test is administered. We expect the results of those tests on Sunday, January 31. If there are no positive tests among that group, the School will resume in-person learning for boarding and day students on Monday, February 1. The School will communicate news about Monday’s schedule as soon as it becomes available.

Past COVID-19 Updates from Head of School John Warren:
NEW: Upcoming Academic Reporting Highlights

Window Two and Semester One Grades
We are at work finalizing feedback from the close of the semester and will make grades available in the Parent Portal on Tuesday, February 2. Grades for this cycle will be posted in the form of letter and effort grades for window two and semester one. As a reminder, faculty will compose narrative comments to accompany grades at the close of Window Three.

Advisor Conferencing
In place of the traditional midyear advisor letter, we have decided to offer a second round of advisor conferencing, in line with the opportunities for connection that we offered this fall. Advisors will reach out to families of their advisees to schedule a 20-25 minute virtual conference in the following windows of time: February 10 or 11, or between February 16 and 19. We ask that conferences not be scheduled during the upcoming four-day weekend (February 12-15) to ensure it remains meaningful rest for all in the community. This meeting is an opportunity to hear updates on your student's progress and share information with advisors. Ultimately, these conversations can inform action plans and support for your student in the weeks ahead, and allow us to deepen our partnership in care for your child. For those that cherish the advisor letter as a record of your student's experience, please be reassured that we are planning for a year-end advisor letter to celebrate the growth and learning that each student experienced over the course of this unique academic year.
