Campus News

End of School Year & Underform (III, IV, V Form) Departure Dates
The last academic day of the 2020-2021 School Year is Thursday, May 27. Day students will depart campus after their last commitment, and move-out for boarding students will take place that afternoon and on the morning of Friday, May 28. More details will be shared in a separate communication with families.

NEW: Moving and Storage
Moving and storage will be provided for students through On Demand Storage. Families and students will receive a direct web link to secure services and packing materials will be provided for students using this service.

NEW: Spring Day Off | Wednesday, May 5
This Wednesday, May 5, we have the fourth installment of our spring days off series with a sleep-in and a break from homework. We will have Trombetta’s ice cream on campus and continue the annual Quad Games competition between Phoenix, Fearing, Large, and Thayer. Day students may come to campus to participate in events on campus.

Student leaders, with faculty assistance, will organize the events. Students and teachers (in-person and remote) will compete at a variety of levels. Contests in health and safety-approved events will be scheduled and points for the winning teams will be tabulated. Team Phoenix is presently in the lead!

REMINDER: Day Student Weekend Access to Campus
As we move into the spring, we are gradually opening the campus inviting day students on weekends. We will be doing a staggered approach moving forward starting with this weekend welcoming VI Former on campus for activities. Day students have been able to come to campus for morning practices and specific events. Starting this weekend, VI Formers will be able to stay and participate in on-campus events. Next weekend, V and VI Formers may come back to campus. Here is the plan moving forward:

April 24 and 25: VI Form
May 1 and 2: VI and V Form
May 8 and 9: VI, V, and IV Form
May 15 and 16: All Forms
May 22 and 23: All Forms

Health checks and check-ins will take place during brunch and dinner as well as in the morning during athletic practices. Day students must be given a bracelet to be on campus for both indoor and outdoor spaces. Due to capacity limitations, day students cannot join smaller trips to locations such as Target, Chipotle, etc.

REMINDER: Off-campus Events and Visits
We are maintaining our health and safety guidelines for off-campus events and visits. Off-campus events and trips will continue to necessitate a 14-day quarantine and two PCR tests in order for students to return to in-person learning. This is in line with recommendations from our consultants at EH&E.
