Tomorrow, at the Katowice climate conference (COP24), Global Climate Action convenes an event to chart the future of its Global Climate Action portal.

It is already well understood that governments alone cannot solve the scale of the climate challenge. The good news is that rapid scaling-up of climate action from states, regions, cities, businesses, investors and citizens is already underway globally. The difficulty is in understanding exactly what this all means.  UN Climate Change’s online platform (formerly called NAZCA) captures the individual and cooperative commitments of these actors in a bid to recognize the status and potential of global climate action. But it must do so much more if it is to fulfill its vision to guide governments in their efforts to implement the Paris Agreement.

This event brings together three distinguished speakers, along with interested stakeholders, who are all directly involved in measuring climate action to imagine how the portal can best honor its vision.
