We are delighted to release the first issue of our monthly newsletter. Our goal to enhance collaboration for climate action requires a space where our community's good practices, case studies, and achievements on tackling climate change can be shared.

All Climate Neutral Now participants are welcome to reach out and share stories of common interest to the community.

Good news! Climate Neutral Now is evolving! Since its inception five years ago, Climate Neutral Now has reached an amazing level of commitment from our community. We are now over 450 participants - including companies, sport clubs, schools, airports, subnational governments, and many others, all taking action towards climate neutrality.

To encourage an even more ambitious response and to acknowledge who is already leading the way to climate neutrality, we are implementing different levels of recognition within the 3 steps method (Measure, Reduce, and Contribute). Achieving Gold level in all steps means that you have achieved climate neutrality.

In order to transparently recognize your actions, we have developed a badge to indicate the levels achieved by the participant in the reporting year for each step. This badge will be tailored to your organization and delivered to you together with the new Climate Neutral Now logo, as shown in this example.

The Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment released an updated version of its GHG Management Hierarchy in November 2020. It points out that the climate emergency requires a considerable amplification of action, and that this must be done across all levels of the hierarchy and in different ways depending on the context.

Organizations, businesses, universities, governments and others taking bold leadership on climate change in the areas of climate neutrality, innovative climate finance and climate leadership can nominate their work for a special 10th anniversary edition of the UN Global Climate Action Awards. The annual award programme recognizes the world's most innovative, scalable and replicable examples of action to tackle climate change.
