It is with great sadness that the Leadership of Capo Beach Church, the Board of Directors, Spiritual Leaders and Pastoral Staff, stand united behind the decision to accept the resignation of Peter-John Courson. He has been an incredible source of encouragement during his time with us and he will be greatly missed. His message of grace will be alive in all of us for many years to come. Here is a summary of how our Board of Directors came to accept Peter-John's resignation as our teaching pastor.

On December 18th, 2014, we, the Board of Directors of Capo Beach Church, requested a meeting with Peter-John to discuss our concerns and those that were expressed by the staff, the leadership team and members of our church family. Peter-John declined to meet with us and instead submitted his letter of resignation.  After prayer and discussion, we voted that night not to accept his resignation. We sent Peter-John a letter advising him of our decision, and renewed our request to meet with him to have an open discussion.   

Peter-John did not respond to our request for this meeting. He has, however, publicly stated that he believes God is leading him in a different direction. After six days of no response, and after more prayerful consideration, it is with heavy hearts we thus unanimously voted, on December 23rd, 2014, to accept Peter-John's resignation. 

As a church family, we will continue to press in and pursue God as we walk through this together. Join us as we uphold the Courson family and our church community in prayer. As always, our leadership team is available to you.
