We are delighted to welcome our newest therapist to Chicago Christian Counseling Center!
Rebecca Reuter, MA, LMHC, LCPC, sees adolescents and adults as individuals, couples, and families at our Schererville, IN, location.
Rebecca specializes in mood disorders, anxiety disorders, addiction (substance and behavioral), grief/loss, abuse, emotional dysregulation, interpersonal problems, and adjustment issues. For the past 10 years, she has worked in community outpatient and inpatient mental health, correctional mental health, and private group practice. She had experience with international missions work before her professional counseling days and continues to strongly value this area of ministry. She is trained to work as a civilian professional counselor to military personnel and has extensive trauma and substance abuse treatment experience through her outpatient and correctional therapy roles.
Initially a biology major, Rebecca became interested in psychology and counseling when she participated in her own professional counseling prior to moving overseas to engage in missions work with refugees. While brief, her experience in counseling had a profound impact on her own mental health and personal growth and, ultimately, catalyzed a passion for both the science of psychology and art of counseling. She is excited to bring her breadth of experience and Christian faith to the forefront of her counseling perspective to help others heal and grow.
Rebecca earned her B.A. in Behavioral Science, emphasis in psychology, in 2007 from Purdue University Northwest and her M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2010 from Valparaiso University.
