Dear Friend,
You are warmly invited to this special colloquium!
Research on humiliation began at the Department of Psychology at the University of Oslo in 1997. Evelin Lindner earned her Dr. psychol. in 2001 with the thesis titled "The Psychology of Humiliation: Somalia, Rwanda / Burundi, and Hitler's Germany". From this work, a transdisciplinary field of research and inquiry grew forth, "Human Dignity and Humiliation Studies" (HumanDHS,
humiliationstudies.org), as a global network of academics and practitioners.
In this colloquium, Evelin Lindner will briefly sketch the chronological path of this work since 1997, then share some core findings, before opening for dialog. She just finished a book that ends with the question: "How must we, humankind, arrange our affairs on this planet so that dignified life will be possible in the long term?"
Evelin Lindner has a dual education as a Medical Doctor and a Psychologist, with a Ph.D. in Medicine (Dr. med.) and a Ph.D. in Psychology (Dr. psychol.).
