A Special Invitation for You!
Colloquium
From Humiliation to Dignity
Research since 1997 at the Department of Psychology at the University of Oslo

Wednesday, 22nd June, 13.30 – 15.00
Department of Psychology
Forskningsveien 3A, Oslo, room S328 (south wing, 3rd floor, room 28)

Dear Friend,

You are warmly invited to this special colloquium!

Research on humiliation began at the Department of Psychology at the University of Oslo in 1997. Evelin Lindner earned her Dr. psychol. in 2001 with the thesis titled "The Psychology of Humiliation: Somalia, Rwanda / Burundi, and Hitler's Germany". From this work, a transdisciplinary field of research and inquiry grew forth, "Human Dignity and Humiliation Studies" (HumanDHS, humiliationstudies.org), as a global network of academics and practitioners.

In this colloquium, Evelin Lindner will briefly sketch the chronological path of this work since 1997, then share some core findings, before opening for dialog. She just finished a book that ends with the question: "How must we, humankind, arrange our affairs on this planet so that dignified life will be possible in the long term?"

Evelin Lindner has a dual education as a Medical Doctor and a Psychologist, with a Ph.D. in Medicine (Dr. med.) and a Ph.D. in Psychology (Dr. psychol.).

From Humiliation to Dignity:
For a Future of Global Solidarity
Even as we watch cascading crises unfold around the world, our shared hope is for an exponential change of heart so that global unity — rooted in respect for diversity — becomes possible.

The central question of Evelin Lindner's newest book is: How must we, humankind, arrange our affairs on this planet so that dignified life will be possible in the long term? This book is a "must read" for all who care about the survival of life on this planet. We invite you to read a downloadable synopsis of this upcoming book, and check the Dignity Press website for updates about its release.
