Tusculum has its vibe back. Over the course of the past few weeks our students have returned. Fall sport athletes return first so they can begin practicing. Mid-August the freshmen arrived to fill the dorms. This fall we have 61 more students living on campus than last year. We also have 89 more new traditional students this year than last year. As a result, campus is a buzz with students and activities. It is exciting to see all of the new students.

The first day of classes we opened Zeke’s Market, and the students love it. This is themed around Zeke our mascot and not only offers food off the grill, but it is also a convenience store for the students. Come back for Homecoming and visit Zeke’s Market.

With 56% of this incoming class being first-generation students and about 50% being low-income, scholarships remain critical for providing access to a Tusculum education. We are not only enriching students, we are elevating the generations that will follow these students. Gap scholarships allow us to target the financial gaps that would have prevented a student from coming to or remaining at Tusculum. Thank you for supporting our newest Pioneers.

YOUR FRONTIER AWAITS!

In honoring Marion Edens and his legacy of service to students, we are pleased to announce that the scholarship honoring Mr. Edens, a longtime member of staff of then Tusculum College, has reached official endowment status. With many “Edens stories” circulating among alumni of the 1950s and 60s, this scholarship honoring the impact of one man on so many lives seems a fitting tribute.

Thanks to generous support, the Edens Scholarship Fund has surpassed $67,000 in donations and with your continued help, we are well on our way to reaching the $100,000 goal to further honor Mr. Edens’ enduring legacy.

🧡 Exciting news: Jim Owen (1960) will match dollar for dollar up to $20,000 all gifts received by the end of the year. That means your contribution will go twice as far in helping us reach the finish line!

Now is the perfect time to give in honor of a man who gave so much to Tusculum and its students.

We mourn the loss of members of our alumni community. Though we may not have all the details, we remember and honor those who have passed. Each person’s contribution to our community, in their own way, has left a lasting impact that will continue to resonate with us.

Our thoughts are with their families, friends, and all who were fortunate to know them. Their memories will forever be cherished, and their legacies will live on in the hearts of those they touched.

Dear Alumni and Friends!

As we step into September and the new academic year settles into full swing, campus is buzzing with excitement. The early signs of fall are beginning to appear, and with them comes a renewed sense of tradition, connection, and celebration here at Tusculum.

We were thrilled to kick off the semester with the Alumni Ice Cream Social. Thank you to everyone who came out and made it such a sweet success! It was a joy to see alumni and current students connecting, sharing stories, and enjoying a fun evening together.

Looking ahead, we’re excited to invite both alumni and students to our Alumni-Hosted Trivia Night at the baseball stadium on September 18th. It promises to be a fun, relaxed evening of friendly competition and community. Don’t miss it!

We’re also excited to introduce a new way for alumni to give back: the Tusculum Alumni Mentor Program. This initiative connects alumni with current students to provide support, share career insights, and help guide them through their academic and professional journeys. If you’re looking for a meaningful way to stay involved and make a direct impact, we would love to have you join as a mentor. Together, we can build a powerful "Bridge to Success" for the next generation of Pioneers.

And of course, planning is in full swing for one of the most anticipated times of the year: Homecoming! Mark your calendars for October 29 – November 2, 2025, and start making plans to return to campus. From reunions and tailgates to our Alumni Awards Dinner on Saturday, November 1, there will be countless opportunities to reconnect, reminisce, and celebrate what it means to be part of the Tusculum family.

Thank you for your continued support and dedication to Tusculum. Whether you’re cheering us on from across the country or walking the halls of campus, your presence and pride are felt in every corner of our community.

As always, please feel free to email me at mebryant@tusculum.edu or call at 423.636.7407.

Kind Regards,
