Because of COVID-19, I have not been back to our beloved Philippines since January 2020.
Now, thanks be to God, Ethel and I are going back in January.
Because so much has changed in these past 4 years, our time in the Philippines will consist of more trips, but shorter trips in duration.
Ethel was there for most of August, and we will return together for most of January 2024. One of the main events in January will be our national leadership conference, which we conduct every three years. The conference is called STRONGERMAN. We did a video version of this conference in 2021 via ZOOM, because that’s the best we could do at the time.
SM2024, however, will be our first in-person conference since 2018. Everyone is very excited for this.

This January, hundreds of our pastors and leaders will attend our STRONGERMAN 2024 leadership conference. These photos are from past SM conferences. | |
There are 4 morning sessions, one afternoon session and the main session each night. Delegates eagerly listen to the messages, and take detailed notes they use when returning to their churches. | |
The conference budget includes 3 meals a day for hundreds of delegates. We cook all the food ourselves in our compound kitchen, and when served, everybody just finds a spot to sit down and eat their meal. | |
The night services will always bring a powerful move of the Spirit during praise and worship. We bring the joy of the Lord to help encourage all of our frontline ministers. | |
Your generous support enables us to conduct this conference. We help the delegates with their transportation expenses to and from the compound, and feed them hot food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. | |
This conference is designed to encourage and rejuvenate our field workers and pastors. They go back home and continue pastoring churches, and reaching the lost in many ways. | |
We have street bands that go out witnessing with music. That’s one reason why we want our conference to be charged with great praise and worship for them. | |
We also conduct concerts with our youth bands throughout the year. The conference gives them the opportunity to sing and praise the Lord with all of us, and sometimes, they even do the praise and worship themselves. | |
We also have live drama teams that go out and use their talents to witness and preach the gospel. Many of them will be attending our SM2024 conference. | |
This SM2024 conference will give me the chance to hug and love on all of our frontline evangelists, witnessing and holding crusades nationwide. | |

Ethel and I want you to know how important you are to the ongoing work of MKMI in the Philippines, and around the world. We are presently in a good position financially and expect that to be the case as we move through the year 2023. We believe we’ll get back overseas to our sons and daughters as soon as possible, but wherever we are, we know we have got partners like you to lean on.

The cost of educating our students falls mainly upon the MKMI ministry. The students are charged tuition, but the actual budget for housing, feeding and educating them is much more than their tuition can cover. That’s why sponsorship has become so vital. If you would like to sponsor one or more of our current or future students, the total cost to underwrite one of them is $95 monthly, or $855 annually (for nine months of study – vacation time excluded). This covers everything we need to provide for them. And remember, your gifts are always tax-deductible.
We’re believing God will provide sponsors for 35 students. If this is something you feel led to help us with, be sure to designate “Sponsor a Student” from the drop down menu when clicking the link below for online contributions. We will provide sponsors with individual names and photos of all the students their support is enabling us to train.

Don’t let the world steal from you the joy and majesty of Christmas. Let the good tidings of great joy be yours personally this year – for you and your loved ones!
Be sure to take time to meditate on what this celebration is all about. God, the 2nd Person of the Trinity, took upon Himself flesh and blood, entering the human race as a little infant boy (Philippians 2:3-8).
He came to do for us what we could never do for ourselves – redeem us from our sins and save us from an eternity condemned to hell’s fire (Romans 6:23). The incredible demonstration of divine love in all of this is mind-boggling! God gave the greatest gift to us all – His son.
This Christmas, make sure you give back to God the greatest gift you can give – your unrestricted availability (Isaiah 6:8). Love Him with all your heart, soul, mind and strength (Mark 12:30), and be sure Jesus really is the Lord of your life (Luke 6:46).
