On November 22nd, I celebrated my 71st birthday. I was born on Thanksgiving day in 1951. According to my mother, as she was in the recovery room shortly after my delivery, the nurse walked in with me in one arm and a turkey drumstick in the other, saying “Happy Thanksgiving! Here is your dark meat (the turkey leg), and here is your white meat (me).” Truly, I can say I am the ultimate expression of “white meat”, a true turkey for Jesus!

Throughout my childhood up to my mid-20’s, God’s hand was upon me for protection from demonically inspired calamities, carnal appetites and foolish behaviors that deceive so many youth and young adults. I’m sure many were interceding for me, but I’m well persuaded it was primarily the prayers of my mother that many times kept me from dying and going to hell.

I was born again on September 21st, 1978. So not only have I lived on earth now these 71 years, I’ve also served as a frontline soldier in the army of the Lord for the last 44 years. From the day of my rebirth until now, I’ve done my best to obey my commanding officer, Jesus Christ. I go where He wants me to go, to do what He wants me to do when He wants me to do it.

In September 1980, after my graduation from Rhema Bible Training College, He sent me to the Philippines with a one-way ticket and $20 in my pocket. My checked baggage consisted of one footlocker containing my Bible and Bible school notes, along with a few changes of clothes in a small suitcase. From then until now, countless numbers of souls have been won to the Lord in our crusades nationwide.

Since the COVID-19 plandemic hit, Ethel and I have been unable to travel back to the Philippines to resume our ministry work firsthand. We’re still believing for open doors to return, but in the meantime, our staff and field personnel are busy doing the work of the ministry.

On November 22nd, my leaders and workers gave me the best birthday present I could ever get – a crusade leading people to receive Jesus as Lord and Savior. This month’s newsletter is dedicated to showing you the best birthday present any of us could receive – being part of an outreach that won souls in the name of Jesus. Review the pictures and sing “Happy Birthday” with me!

God’s gift to me on my birthday. Souls to talk to in Jesus’ name.

Here’s our Regional Director, Sabas Inot, sharing the gospel message.

Another precious gift from God on my birthday.

The greatest birthday gift – another soul saved for eternity.

Our staff leads these precious people to the Lord, and you and I are there!

We don’t just give the gospel, but needed foodstuffs as well.

Our workers and the newly saved saints. You and I are there with them in spirit.

In these perilous times, Christians need to prioritize their lives in every way possible. With a world paralyzed with fear for the future, the need for end-times separation is critical. We must be different! When Paul wrote his epistle to the Roman believers, he outlined the three basic areas that kept him steady and strong in the midst of intense persecution. We need to know what they are, and how we can be as steady and as strong as he was. In this teaching series, Apostle Mike identifies critical elements of awareness that creates a solid foundation for the challenging days in which we live. All of us need to know these things!

Overall Ministry:

Financial Support. Agree with us for steady and sufficient monthly income to run the ministry and continue all avenues of outreach without interruption. We’re feeding on God’s faithfulness (Psalms 37:3). As our COLD-WATER newsletters indicate, we’re busy on many fronts, sharing the gospel with young and old alike. Your support enables us to send our teams wherever the Holy Spirit leads.

In the Philippines:

Fruitful Outreaches. Our churches continue to obey the Great Commission of Mark 16:15-18. Thank you for your prayers and financial support. Many salvations and re-dedications are taking place.

Ethel and I want you to know how important you are to the on-going work of MKMI in the Philippines, and around the world. We are presently in a good position financially and expect that to be the case as we approach the year 2023. We believe we’ll get back overseas to our sons and daughters as soon as possible, but wherever we are, we know we have got partners like you to lean on. Since 1980, I have gone wherever God leads me, and now our staff, students, graduates and churches reproduce that same effort in the Philippines. Your prayers and financial support enables us to do all of this. Thank you!

RHEMA PHILIPPINES IS TAKING APPLICATIONS

Rhema Bible Training Center is aggressively seeking Christians who are called to do something significant for Jesus with their lives in these last days. This is the Bible school that trained and prepared me before I was sent to the Philippines in 1980. What I learned provided me with the knowledge and foundation for success in ministry. The good news is that our RBTC school in Ozamiz City is available to do the same teaching and training for Filipinos. This school will elevate your abilities to serve Jesus with excellence. This school prepares you for success as an Ambassador of Christ. Contact us for all the details, and how you can enroll in our next trimester of teaching that begins in January. Contact info: Rev. Cheryl Carbajosa, School Director @ 09382071739, or Rev. Emmie Cabanag, School Administrator @ 09127609333.

For though I am absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your good order and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ. Colossians 2:5

As I said earlier, even though we’ve been unable to physically travel back to the Philippines since January 2020, the ministry continues in the name of Jesus. My birthday crusade is just one example of this. What is impossible in the natural realm is possible in the spiritual realm. No matter where Christians may be physically, their prayers, support and leadership can affect lives all across the world. In the spirit, they can be wherever they need to be instantaneously. Therefore, don’t limit your scope of influence for God. Paul wasn’t with the Colossian brethren physically, but he was spiritually. There is no distance in the spirit world, so his prayers, financial support and leadership training was making a profound impact in a location far away from where he was physically. When you pray for us and support our work financially, you are with us wherever we go for the Lord. When we hold crusades, you are there. When we establish churches and teach the saints, you are there. When we teach in our Bible school, you are there. That means you’ll get the same rewards we get in heaven someday. Read the story of David and Goliath in 1 Samuel 17. Everybody knows who David was, but there were two other individuals who made it possible for David to do what he did. We don’t even know their names now, but we will when they’re standing with David on Rewards Day in heaven. Their occupations are given in verses 20 and 22. They are the sheep keeper and the supply keeper. When they did what they did, they enabled David to do what he did. Physically, they didn’t throw the stone that killed the giant, but they were partnering with David. So as far as God was concerned, they threw the stone as much as David did. And on Rewards Day, when we stand before the Lord for any rewards He sees fit to give us, you’ll stand with us to get the same rewards. You’re very important to God in so many ways.
