Even though Ethel and I are unable to travel to Ozamiz for ministry and classroom instruction because of the Fear Virus, our RBTC continues. Other anointed instructors are filling in for us, teaching in person or online remotely. In like manner, some of our students are attending classes in person, while others are doing so online. In addition, we are both doing live classroom teaching via ZOOM technology from our USA offices in Tucson, Arizona. One way or another, the school is operational, and our students are being taught.

Not far from Ozamiz, across the bay in a part of Mindanao heavily populated with Muslims, there is a small barrio (village) named Liangan. I held crusades here back in the early 1980s, and for the past several years one of our nearby churches has been holding Bible studies there. We also sent members of the June 2018 Ministry Tour to Liangan for more crusade outreach.
We’re now happy to report we’ve broken ground on their new church building!
We always teach the Word of God to precious new believers.
Your faithful support enables us to continue our evangelistic and church planting work throughout the Philippines.
Here is the stage and back wall for our new church.
The church is being built in the middle of the village, in a vacant lot.
The church is literally on the beach, yards away from the ocean.
We always start with praise & worship.
We pass out song sheets so everyone can learn the songs we sing.

In July, people from the city’s tax office showed up at our front gate, to inform us that we owed them millions of pesos in back taxes! They didn’t give us a specific amount, just used the term “millions of pesos”. In addition, they told us this amount was due immediately! We have contacted our lawyers, and they’re now working on this for us.
The city tried this very same thing back in 2013, showing up one day to inform us that we owed millions of pesos in back taxes, dating back to 1993 (we always wondered why they picked 1993 as the starting point for our “violations”, and they never explained it – typical third world corruption and foolishness at its best). Our lawyers stepped in and informed them that we are a registered non-profit ministry, that we submit all the proper paperwork every year on time, and therefore owe no taxes to anyone. That’s still the case today, so please agree with us that these people will just go away and disappear, and never bother us again with these ridiculous attempts to extort money from our ministry.

For these are the last days that have been prophesied from long ago, says the Lord your God. Nothing that is happening around you surprises Me. Nothing takes Me in a place where I am not prepared to do what I have said I would do; to fulfill My Word long ago. These are dark times for those who don’t know Me, but these are exciting times for those who do. I want you to be reassured this morning, that I know what’s going on. My hand is upon this country. My hand is upon this nation, and I will not withdraw it, for my people continue to pray and they stand in the gap and they make the wall, and the wall is being built and nothing can stop this from happening, because I have declared it to be so.
And each one you here today have a very important part to play. You need to understand that I need your words. I need your declaration and I need your partnership with Me, because together we can do what the Word says we can do. And these things that are happening around, these dark times, never mind all of this but you keep your eyes upon the Lord your God, because our best days are all ahead of us. And there will be an ushering in of saints into the body of Christ, the likes of which the world has never seen. The devil can huff and puff, but he will never blow this house down, because I am the Lord your God, and not by might, nor by spirit, but by My Word you shall declare all things that shall be as I have said. All things shall be as I have said, and you have a part to play, and all things will be as I have said, says the Lord.
As you can see, over and over the Lord said all things shall be as He has said. I’m reminded of what Paul told Timothy, that even though he’s in chains in prison, the word of God can never be chained (2 Timothy 2:9). The Bible says not to worry about anything, but to pray about everything (Philippians 4:6). The Bible declares our final and complete victory. It says they that be with us are more than they that be with them (2 Kings 6:16). The Bible says that mighty angels hearken to the spoken Word of God (Psalms 103:20). The Lord also emphasized the important part we play in this. He said He needs our partnership to accomplish great things in these last days. He needs our words! As He said, these are fearful times for those who don’t know Him, but exciting times for those who do.

Once again, Ethel and I want to thank all of you for your faithful and generous support. I’m pleased to report that all of our bills are paid, and we’ve got enough on hand to continue funding our on-going work overseas. Through all of the Fear Virus lock downs which are still in place all over the world, God has proven Himself faithful to meet our needs, and we know He will continue to do so. You are a very important part of His work to sustain MKMI through 2020 and beyond. We can’t say when we’ll be able to return to the Philippines, but wherever we are we know we’ve got partners like you to lean on, as we all stand in faith for complete victory over this global attack of the enemy.

We appreciate your faithful prayers of agreement for these priority issues affecting our ministry in the Philippines:
Tax Attack. See above for details.
Fear Virus Issues. Agree with us that all COVID-19 hurdles are eliminated. That means all travel restrictions and quarantine requirements be lifted in all countries where we are assigned by God to go, especially the Philippines.
Ministry Income. Agree with us for steady and sufficient monthly income to run the ministry and continue all avenues of outreach without interruption.
Road Expansion Project: The city of Ozamiz has indicated they intend to restart construction work to widen the road in front of our compound, which would damage and destroy hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of our property and existing structures. Believe with us for the complete termination of this project – with no damage or destruction to compound property.

My heart is overflowing with a good theme; I recite my composition concerning the King;
My tongue is the pen of a ready writer. Psalms 45:1
When I first went to work for the Lord in the Philippines in September of 1980, I spent most of the next three years traveling and ministering in mountainous jungles on the islands of Leyte, Mindanao, Bohol, Cebu and Negros. The only promised support I had coming in at that time was from my parents, and one small church in Toledo, Ohio. My total monthly support amounted to around $250. Even though I only had a handful of supporters, to the best of my ability I wanted to keep them informed about where I was and what I was doing. Since I had no money to produce a nice-looking newsletter, and there were no print-shops where I was to print one anyway, I did what I could. Whenever I got back to the island of Bohol, where my home base was located in Tagbilaran City (I was living in Rev. Rudy Trigo’s house as his guest while working for his ministry), I would borrow an old typewriter and hand-type a running record of my travels, much like what Paul did in Acts. (see Acts 14:27 and Acts 15:4)
Here are some excerpts from my very first newsletter, which I called my “Ministry Report”. It was written in the spring of 1981, to be read as soon as I could get it to the handful of supporters in the USA who were with me at the start. The picture you see is the actual report, typed on the original paper 40 years ago.
I have just returned from the islands of Negros and Cebu. I left Tagbilaran City on January 9th, and was on Negros until February 28th. I crossed the channel by boat, ministering on Cebu until March 15th. I write this report from my desk in Tagbilaran City. Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, I will share with you all of the glory Jesus has received through me these past nine weeks. I am confident these newsletters will be a blessing to your spirit, soul and body. They will be a source of inspiration and faith- building information to believe God for great miracles within your own life and ministry. Amen to that.
In Acts 14:27 and Acts 15:4, we see Paul and Barnabas giving report concerning the work God had called them to fulfill. They rehearsed and declared all things that God had done with them. With who? With the men and women in those churches who had sent them forth and given them support. As in Antioch and Jerusalem, so it shall be with you. In these newsletters, I shall recount to you all that God worked through me.
On January 22nd, our party of five left the town of Jimalalud, traveling up the east coast (of Negros), seven kilometers to the town of La Libertad. From here we began our climb into the mountainous interior. This was the first of three journeys I was to make into the mountains of Negros. We climbed (with backpacks and luggage) 5.5 hours in the heat of the tropical sun, until we reached the mountain town of Pacuan. The climb covered 24 kilometers (18 miles). A March of Faith church has been built in Pacuan. Therefore, we rested overnight in the pastor’s house. At 7am the following morning we set out for the village of Hulbe, where our services were scheduled to begin. We climbed for 2 hours, traveling 6 kilometers in distance. We arrived at Hulbe at 9am. When we left Pacuan, our clothing was still damp from the day’s climb before, so they were soaking wet when we reached Hulbe. At 10am, in sweat-soaked clothing, we held service. The church was 8’ wide, and 20’ long. 50 or more people jammed their way into the church. No doors. No windows. No carpet. No drapes. No nursery, no children’s church, no padded pews. A dirt floor, bamboo walls and benches, with a thatch roof made of palm leaves. In the mountains, all churches are built in this simple way. $150 will pay for one complete church (my note: that figure was in 1981 dollars – it’s more today). Yet in these crudely constructed churches the awesome power of God has been displayed time and again. How I praise the Lord for Acts 7:48. God does not dwell in temples made with hands. Our service in Hulbe was tremendous. I believe even the babies were screaming in the spirit!

This is one of many isolated mountain churches I visited in my jungle travels. This one is on the island of Negros. What an honor to represent Jesus in places like this.

On Friday afternoon, people from all over the mountains come to Hulbe to converse, exchange news, and buy and sell their goods. Therefore, following our morning church service, we pitched a table right in the middle of this gathering, and I started preaching. No advertising, no pulpit, no microphone, no gospel singers, just the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. That is all we need. People listened intently. The Word went forth in power. Men and women were saved. Men and women were healed in body. Hundreds heard the Word of God. Preaching and prayer ended at 4:30pm. We bid farewell and set out for the village of Aya before dark. Two hours and another 6 kilometers over the mountains, we reached Aya. No bath. No shower. Nothing cold to drink. We were wringing wet from perspiration. We had planned for service that night, but the wind was so strong and cold. In the mountains it is extremely hot during the day, extremely cold at night. I slept in wet, sweaty clothes. No mattress. No cushion. A “bed” is nothing more than slats of wood on 4 wooden legs. Many times, I sleep on the floor if the people are too poor to afford a “bed”. This was to be a revival meeting. I preached, God moved in a powerful way. Over 80 stuffed themselves into their little church. It was truly a time of revival for them. One man stood and testified. He saw me in a vision the night before. People had come from all over the mountains to hear the Word of God. We brought new Bibles. They were clutching those Bibles as if they were gold. It touched my heart deeply. I was the first American they had ever seen. No one had ever gone this deep into the mountains before. This was the case everywhere I went. Many had never even seen a white man, much less an American (to be continued in future e-newsletters).

When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well. And he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.” Mark 5:27-28, 34
This woman was sick for 12 years. She “suffered many things” from many physicians, trying to get well. In the process she spent all her money, but her condition only grew worse. That all changed when she touched the hem of our Lord’s garment, and made the “touch of faith”. How do we know it was her faith that made her miracle possible? Jesus said so! He told her it was HER FAITH that had made her well. Her faith, not His faith. Not her crying, or her praying, or her church attendance, or her tithing, or anything else. It was HER FAITH that did the job. In fact, if you read through the four gospels, look carefully at the miracles Jesus performed. In almost every case, He specifically told the miracle recipients that it was their faith that had made their healing possible. For us today, the good news is that nothing has changed! God meets the needs of humanity the same way. It’s still by faith, and faith alone!
How do you get the faith you need to live a victorious life? By feeding upon the exceedingly great and precious promises found in the Bible (2 Peter 1:2-4). Faith COMES BY HEARING, and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17). If you want great faith, spend great amounts of time SPEAKING the promises of God that pertain to the obstacle the devil has placed in front of you. Listen to yourself, and listen to others saying the same thing about your situation. Faith comes when you do this. It’s time well spent, because faith has to come before it can go! Like at the bank, you have to make a deposit before you can make a withdrawal! You make a faith deposit when you hear the Word of God being spoken, either by you or by others. At first, it might sound awkward or strange, because it isn’t yet in abundance in your heart – other “facts” or “fears” have been deposited beforehand. But if you persist, soon God’s Word will be the abundant force in your heart. THEN, out of the abundance of the heart, your mouth will speak (Matthew 12:34). You’re now able to make a faith withdrawal by speaking words that will move any mountain Satan has placed in your way. This is what the sick woman did. She said something before she did something (Mark 5:28). She declared her own healing before she got healed, because faith is the evidence of things not yet seen (Hebrews 11:1). Do the same, because the process has never changed. Speak God’s Word and listen to what is being said. You make deposits and withdrawals this way. You speak it to get it, and you speak it to apply it. It’s more important than hearing what the doctor says, what your family says, what your friends say or what your “family history” may be. This is why the devil fights so hard to influence your conversation. He knows the more you hear the Word of God, the more faith you’re going to have “on deposit” when it counts. So, make sure you program your conversation the right way – especially when you’re under pressure from the enemy! Talk to yourself! Your spoken faith can overcome anything the devil tries against you. Your faith can make you whole!

GOD’S HAVEN AND THE STORMS OF LIFE. 7 CD-SET. According to 1 Peter 4:12, we should not think it strange when we face fiery trials of faith in this life, especially now in the last days. In Psalms 107, God gives us a powerful analogy, comparing Christians to sailors moving from port to port across the great oceans of the earth, where Satan waits to bring powerful storms against us. God’s haven represents the manifested promises of God for every believer; the ones we’re standing in faith to obtain. In this powerful teaching series, I will show you how to successfully navigate through every storm the devil brings against you, so you always arrive at God’s safe haven, which is the manifestation of God’s promises in your life. Listen and learn as we examine the great storm the apostle Paul encountered in Acts 27 and 28, pointing out the many great truths to know and apply in the midst of any storm the devil brings against you. If you want to know how to get through every demonic storm and victoriously sail into God’s safe haven, this series is a must for your listening library.

MANAGING FEAR IN THE LAST DAYS. 7 CD-set. Don’t let the spirit of fear control you! As predicted in the Bible, the last days will be perilous times on earth. The devil knows his time is short, so he’s doing all he can to bring oppression, fear and terror against every human being. Until Jesus returns to personally remove Satan from the earth, we must resist him at every turn. We must learn how to manage fear and keep it at bay, so it doesn’t become a stronghold in our lives. In this anointed teaching series, I will show you how to live above the fears that come against you daily, so they don’t usurp authority in your mind, your body or your life. Yes, it’s possible – you can live above fear in these terrible times!
