Greetings!
On the cusp of the New Year, it's a good time to look back. First and foremost, we want to thank you for your patience this year as we embarked on the long-awaited -- and long-needed -- renovation.

Your patience is paying off: In several weeks, our new HVAC system will be up and running, making your library more comfortable. And work on the Children's and Young Adult areas on the Third Floor is moving along nicely. A bit of a surprise for you: When it opens in the fall, you'll also have a permanent Maker Space!

Between now and then are weeks filled with live programs you can enjoy at the Library, and remote programs you can enjoy at home.

We look forward to spring and summer, when our younger readers rejoin us for Story Times in the Park, when everyone gathers for our live Mic Club Concerts, and all the other great outdoor events we hold.
But back to 2021 for a moment:

It seems every library puts out a Top 10 Reads of the Year, and 2021 was no different. But one really cool aspect of these lists is that they reflect their communities. We found our Top 10 to be full of reads that surprised us. (Okay, "The Midnight Library" was a no-brainer, and some of us are downloading "Klara and the Sun" next week.) But we compared our list with the New York Public Library's, and while there is some common ground, how "The Midnight Library" did not make their list ... well, we just don't know.
If none of those Top 10 Titles interest you, please check out our “Good Reads Add Spark to Your Holidays” reading list. There is literally something for everyone there.

A final point: This is a Holiday Greeting, but it's also to let you know that we are taking every precaution to ensure your health when you come to the Library. Full cleanings are the norm, and safety protocols are the rule.

Thank you for your time, and we hope you enjoy
-- or have enjoyed -- your holidays.
We wish you a Happy & Healthy New Year!
