Greetings!
Someone asked last week, "how do you get all the renovation material up to the Third Floor in this little elevator?" referring to the four-person elevator on the west side of the Library. The answer is, we don't. Instead the contractor uses a giant road-wide crane, with a huge extendable arm, to lift everything some 40 feet, through the windows of the Library's Fifth Street facade.
That's what's going to happen again tomorrow, Thursday, January 13. We are getting another delivery, and that's why we are closing the Main Branch for the day. To ensure your safety.

Many services will continue: Curbside Pickup will be moved to the Park Avenue side of the Library, just for the day. And the Grand Street Branch is open its normal hours of 10 am to 6 pm. But the Lockers at the main branch will be unavailable tomorrow; they're right under where the contractors will be doing this heavy lift.

And, of course, you can always use our website at HobokenLibrary.org for free downloads and research, and order material from our online catalog.

If you want to see a short video that shows why we've made this decision to close for the day, click here. We believe you'll agree with our decision.
Mark you calendar for these two events:
