LARTL and Others Petition Supreme Court:
End Loopholes for Abortion Businesses!
The Louisiana Supreme Court case oral arguments may still be two months out, but important milestones in the case have just passed: Louisiana, through AG Jeff Landry, filed its brief, and proponents of our law have filed amicus briefs. Together with National Right to Life, we filed our own brief, urging the court to retire from its role as the national abortion medical board. In addition, over 80 Louisiana legislators and over 200 Senate and House members have signed briefs as well.

There is support nationwide for the Unsafe Abortion Protection Act we led in 2014. It's time the Supreme Court hears this call and ends loopholes for abortion businesses!

For a Pro-Life Louisiana,
Benjamin Clapper

207 House and Senate Members, Trump Administration File Briefs Supporting La. Law
House Republican Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.), Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.), Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) and Congressman Mike Johnson (R-La.) led 207 members of Congress in filing an amicus brief in the upcoming U.S. Supreme Court case June Medical Services v. Gee, defending Louisiana’s pro-life law that would require all abortion providers to have admitting privileges at local hospitals when emergencies arise. The U.S. Justice Department also filed a brief in the case, as did Louisiana and National Right to Life. Arguments are set for March 4.

On Jan. 22, 1984, President Ronald Reagan designated the third Sunday of January as National Sanctity of Human Life Day. We encourage Louisiana churches and pastors to utilize this day to raise awareness about what the Bible teaches about the sacred gift of human life, how life is under attack, and what the church can do protect the sanctity of life. We can provide resources to make your observance of SOHLS even more special.
Nearly 1,500 high school and college students will attend Louisiana Right to Life's annual Geaux Forth Rally in Washington, D.C., on Jan. 23, the day before the national March for Life. Geaux Forth includes music, fun, and testimony aimed at getting students fired up for their participation in the march. Follow LARTL in Washington, D.C. on Facebook and Instagram.
