Hello Dave. 2nd time lucky ? Our CARM plan.

View as Webpage

We are sorry for sending this out so late. It was supposed to go out last week however CBSA contacted us last week to find out if we would be interested in having "early access" to the CARM production environment since we would be moving over the largest number of brokers (115+) . They finally confirmed early this morning that they were prepared to do this for us. This is going to allow us to test the production MQ CAD connection as well as the release API with production keys the week before CARM goes live October 21st.

The Plan

On Friday at 4pm we will be updating all of your customers to 'I' type. This means that any billing going forward will not include Duty and Taxes. For any customers that you will be still paying Duty and Taxes on their behalf you will need to go into those customers and remove the payment mode I .

Now that we have early access for testing we will be sending out a message Friday October the 18th updating you on how our testing in the production environment is going.

On Monday the 21st please do NOT contact us regarding CARM. We will be putting ONE customer on and confirming that the releases are correct and that we can send all the required CAD documents and get valid responses. As you can imagine with the number of customers we are putting on we have to be VERY confident that all systems are working normally before making it available to everyone.

Once we are happy with our test customer we will send out a message giving you instructions on how to retrieve your production API keys and send them to us. We will then install them and run our release process to receive all of your releases from the blackout period. We will confirm all the releases are there and then have you send a couple of CAD documents to confirm connectivity. Once complete you will be live on CARM and will be free to send the rest of your outstanding entries as per the schedule laid out by CBSA.

Unfortunately with CBSA's decision for a "Big Bang" approach it has been very difficult to establish a timeline for how long this is all going to take. We are expecting some bumps along the way but we have no idea how big the bumps will be and how long it will take CBSA to respond. In an ideal world we would like to have everybody live and running by Friday the 25th but we are keenly aware it could be months.

Hope for the best, prepare for the worst
