I am so sad to inform you that Elaine Knobel died last night in Florida of an apparent heart attack. Elaine was spending the winter there.
Elaine has been our beloved, funny, and warm rebbetzin for the past 42 years. Her warm and humorous speeches at congregational events are legendary, and the mutual love and respect that she and Rabbi Knobel had for each other was inspirational. We will miss her wit, her love for our Beth Emet community, and her incredible cheesecakes, among her many other amazing talents and qualities. She was one of a kind.
The funeral will be at Beth Emet next Thursday, February 17 at 10 a.m. This service will be live-streamed. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, we may not be able to accommodate all those who wish to attend in person as there are capacity limits. Click here if you wish to register to attend.
The family will be sitting shiva Thursday evening, February 17 from 7:00 – 9:00 pm at Beth Emet. Due to capacity limits, there may be a delay in entering the building and visiting with the family. More details to follow.
Elaine’s memory will be a blessing, as was her life. We are so grateful to have had this wonderful woman in our lives.
Zichrona Livracha,
Rabbi Andrea London
