Pastor Anderson's Obituary
ELLEN MARIE ANDERSON, 73, died on January 5, 2026. She was born on December 31, 1952, and lived a life defined by generosity, compassion, and an instinctive care for others.
Ellen was the daughter of the late Arvid and Marjorie Anderson and is also lovingly remembered by her stepmother, Nancy Anderson. She was a devoted mother to her daughters, Molly Anderson and Lily Anderson, and a proud grandmother to Landon and Jackson Markley. She is survived by her brothers, Bruce Anderson (Nancy) and Brent Anderson (Barbara), along with many beloved family members and lifelong friends.
Ellen’s life was marked by service. She spent more than two decades working in social work, advocating for and supporting others with deep empathy and loving determination. Later, she followed a call into ministry, receiving her theological education at the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Philadelphia. She faithfully served the Church in a variety of settings, including Dinkey Memorial Lutheran Church in Jim Thorpe; St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Allentown; the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Philadelphia; and Living Word Lutheran Church in Roslyn.
Known for her kindness, joy, and steady presence, Ellen was a caregiver at heart. Helping others was not simply what she did—it was who she was. She nurtured deep relationships, maintained lifelong friendships, and surrounded herself with family and friends who loved her dearly. Ellen will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her unwavering care for others, and a life poured out in love and service. May God comfort all who mourn.
