Death of a Pastor - Rev. Richard H. “Dick” Mathison

In Memoriam
 The Rev. Richard H. “Dick” Mathison 
September 27, 1934 – January 7, 2021  
 
Pastor Dick Mathison died January 7, 2021, at the age of 86.  

Richard “Dick” Mathison was born in Richey, Montana.  He attended Concordia College (1957) and Luther Seminary (1961); he was ordained June 11, 1961.

Pastor Dick served American Lutheran Church, Harlem, MT (1961-1966); Zion Lutheran Church, Redmond, OR (1966-1973); Zion Lutheran Church, Spokane, WA (1973-1985); Red Hill Lutheran Church, Tustin, CA (1985-1989); and Trinity Lutheran Church, Fresno, CA (1989-1996).  

He retired in 1996, moving to Indio, CA. His wife, Kathryn (Kay) Mathison, died in 2014; he later married his current wife, Judy.

Pastor Dick is survived by his wife, Judy, his sons Steven and Jon, and his grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
