Dear Friends:
I am pleased to announce I am running for the office of Supervisor - Butte County District 2 - against Larry Wahl. Everyone in the county is impacted by the actions of the Board of Supervisors which oversees a $528.5 million budget. Decisions made by the Board of Supervisors affect our health care, public safety, environment, and economic opportunities.

It is my belief that through better cooperation between our cities and county, increased leveraging of state and federal funds and actively developing complementary business and industry strategies, we could better serve Butte County citizens. We need to address the problems of homelessness, lack of housing, high poverty rates, hunger that plagues our communities, lack of good-paying jobs and even pothole-filled roads. We need new thinking and creative and collaborative approaches.
I have been active in community and economic development in the areas of agriculture, tourism, business development, arts and culture for nearly 20 years. We need leaders who are energetic problem solvers, who will seek common ground with political colleagues and who will leverage our assets. I am passionate about making Butte County a place where we feel safe, inclusive, opportunities abound, our farm land and water are protected, and health care is a priority. Education and career training for youth and low-skilled workers are also passions of mine.

My professional background experience includes nearly 15 years of working with the County of Butte as a contractor providing economic development and tourism services. I understand its many strengths and its weaknesses. My experience also includes:
- Executive director of nonprofit institutions, facility management, development
- CEO of Butte County Economic Development Corporation
- Manager of an international furniture trade association
- Private business owner
- Journalist

I have deep Butte County roots going back to 1860 when my great, great grandfather settled in Mountain Spring and then moved to Enterprise (now under Lake Oroville) where my great grandmother was born in 1863. My grandmother and mother were born in Oroville. I was born at Enloe Hospital in Chico, raised in Corning, attended Shasta College and graduated from CSU, Chico, with a Bachelor's in Communications. Both my parents also graduated from Chico State.
I raised my three children in Chico - all of whom are pursuing education, careers and enjoying family life on the West Coast.
Please join me in making my campaign a success. I need your help. Campaigns are expensive and my opponent is well funded. We need to purchase billboards, lawn signs, mailers, radio, TV, print and social media ads. Consider a donation and most importantly, your endorsement of my campaign.
The yellow district below is District 2 and represents mostly West and North Chico to the Tehama Border. Even if you are not in my District and cannot vote for me, you can still support my campaign with a donation, yard sign, endorsement or a letter to the editor.
