SACRAMENTO GUITAR SOCIETY

The Annual SGS Guitar Orchestra Winter Concert 2024 is here! December 15th 3pm


The SGS Guitar Orchestras will be performing our annual Winter concert on Sunday December 15th at the CLARA, 3 pm, suggested donation $20.

Special Guest Mark Tiecholz


Mark Teicholz. Marc Teicholz, classical guitarist, is the first prize-winner of the 1989 International Guitar Foundation of America competition. He has toured extensively throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe, receiving critical acclaim for his recitals and master classes.  Some of the major concert halls he has performed in include Los Angeles’ Ambassador Auditorium, Atlanta’s Spivey Hall, and Columbia’s Koger Center.

The SGS Guitar Orchestras will be performing our annual Winter concert:


  • Sunday December 15th at the CLARA
  • 3pm start, suggested donation for program $20


This event will also feature a very special guest performer, Mark Teicholz. Mark is on the faculty of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and at California State University East Bay. Marc Teicholz graduated magna cum laude from Yale University, 1985, received a master’s degree from the Yale School of Music, 1986, and a J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley at the Boalt School of Law, 1990.

Mark’s program will include works by Fernando Sor, Isaac Albeniz,

Sergio Assad, Claude Debussy and Joaquin Turina.

Guitars 4 Vets Program

SGS has partnered with the Guitars 4 Vets program! Our instructors are offering 10 free lessons to veterans with PTSD who have passed a course with the program. Loaner guitars can be provided as needed.
