'The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me,

Because the LORD has anointed Me

To preach good tidings to the poor;

He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,

To proclaim liberty to the captives,

And the opening of the prison to those who are bound.

Isaiah 61:1

Isaiah 61 goes on to say: to all who mourn in Israel, God will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, and festive praise instead of despair. In your personal walk with God, you can experience these promises coming true! Where you are brokenhearted, God wants to heal. He wants to release you from seen or unseen prisons of the present or past. Let us this holiday season be a celebration of our liberation in Jesus spilling over into the lives of others; even those who do not know their brokenness or their need for a Savior. They too can experience hope and freedom!
