An Important Note From Our Founder

Wishing you and yours a very Happy Holiday Season!

For some of our fellow citizens, the holidays can be stressful and deepen depression. Having a companion pet helps more than you can imagine. Your donations help people experiencing homelessness who have a pet that is ill or injured or just plain hungry.

Scientific research demonstrates the health and developmental benefits of pet ownership for people ranging from better mental health and quality of life to improved physical health. Pets may be especially likely to benefit vulnerable populations such as the unhoused.

Many people experiencing homelessness describe their pets as family members and experience distress when they perceive this relationship is not being respected by housing services. A lack of pet-friendly policies leaves unhoused people with pets excluded from housing, health, and other related services. People have reported delaying seeking help or refusing services altogether if it meant they would be separated from their pets.

You can change the lives of a pet and their human. Be a part of our mission to save pets.

May your life be full of peace, love, and prosperity this Holiday Season,

Genevieve Frederick

Success Stories That Matter

Highlighting Those Who Deserve It

Meet Hercules!

"Hello, my name is Hercules. I am a 5-month-old male pit bull mix and live with my human in a tent in the Fresno, CA area. Recently, I became ill. I was throwing up, lethargic and had watery stools with worms. My owner was told about an organization that helps people like us with their pets."

Sheryl's Good Deeds With Feeding Pets of the Homeless

Thank you, Sheryl, for allowing us the opportunity to speak with you and share our mission with your audience. When we all work together we can make a world of difference!

Volunteers in Action

Second graders in Miss Bartelt's class make an impact once again! Each year Miss Bartelt teaches her students about compassion and generosity through sharing the stories of people making a difference in the world. Alongside the stories of Rachel Carson and Cesar Chavez, she shares the story of our founder, Genevieve Frederick, and the work we do at Feeding Pets of the Homeless.

The students were inspired to give back and this year collected over 104 lbs of pet food and supplies that were donated to support the neighbors in need in their community! We are so proud of the students. Please share this story with a teacher in your life; we would be honored to work with them, too.

What Our Partners are Saying

We want to thank you for ensuring Rocco got to the vet.

His owner brought him to our mobile wellness clinic and our vet provided as much treatment as they could in an outdoor setting. I took this photo of Rocco and his owner at the clinic and want you to know how much we appreciate your existence, your staff, and the many times you have helped our unhoused clients. It is so appreciated.

In the areas we serve - Alameda and Contra Costa counties - our homeless population is growing, and many have pets, as you know. We could not be as effective as we are without your help with urgent and emergency medical cases.
