Ken & Denise Want You to Know...
First of all, we would like to wish the Estrella Warbirds Family a very merry holiday season!!!! This year has presented its challenges but we have persevered and worked hard to be an even better museum than in years past!
We could not do this without you!!!
As you have all probably heard, the gift shop is going through some major changes. Among the items we hope to bring to our visiting guests for them to purchase are plastic models of planes, cars, armor and even ships.
So, if you have some unopened or unbuilt plastic models (in box still) and don't have any plans on building it any time in the next century, we would love to take them off your hands to be sold in the gift shop.
Just contact us by email and we can find a perfect time to bring them in.
And if you have not had a chance to see what is going on in the gift shop, stop by soon- You Will Love It!!!!!

You Can Help Restore a UH-19D Chickasaw Helo
|
When this aircraft was originally restored, the previously donated exterior paint utilized at the time, was found to have been aged considerably. Consequently, the finish coat took a tremendous amount of abuse under the local desert sun and began to peel in short order from the hot summer heat. Plans are underway to strip and repaint the helicopter using high quality paint. Your assistance with this project is greatly appreciated! Remember: "To Hover is Heavenly!"

Rare, early vintage motorcycles are showing up at Woodland Auto Display! Check out the latest, an original "Flying Merkel." The Merkel brand first appeared in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1902 when Joseph Merkel set-up shop producing single cylinder motorcycles. Merkel was among the most innovative of the pioneer motorcycle companies. The company was purchased in 1909 by the Light Manufacturing Company and was moved in its entirety to Pottstown, Ohio, producing machines named " The Flying Merkel." In 1911 the Miami Cycle Manufacturing Company
purchased Merkel and production was moved again, this time to Middletown, Ohio.
In 1914 a Flying Merkel won the National endurance run from Chicago to St Louis and Merkel racer, Malwyn Jones then broke a world reeord on the Vanderbilt Course. This 1913 Flying Merkel retains the vast majority of its original orange finish, and is as correct and detailed a
machine as you are likely to find. The only replaced parts are tires and tubes, spark plugs, magneto wires and chains.
