Thank you for joining us this week as we at the Baptist World Alliance pray for our global Baptist family and for God's work around the world. If you pray along with us weekly, you will pray for every country in the world each year!

We give thanks for our sisters and brothers who gathered to pray for the Baptist Women's World Day of Prayer.

Praise:

We give thanks for our sisters and brothers for their hospitality in hosting the 2017 BWA Annual Gathering in Bangkok (pictured above). We also give thanks for the impact of the Thailand Karen Baptist Convention Bible Institute in equipping ministry leaders to rightly divide the Word of Truth.

Prayer:

It is estimated that over 425,000 people in Thailand are living in slavery, and approximately three million migrant workers have been subjected to forced labor or sex trafficking. Join us in prayer for Baptist leaders as they seek to be voices of hope and instruments of change in the face of this injustice.

16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence

Every 10 minutes a women or girl is killed by a partner or family member. 1 in 3 women experience violence in their lifetime. But this violence can be prevented if we stand together. Join with the BWA, BWA Women, and many other organizations around the world in 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. We specifically invite you to participate in the Red Chair Project, a global campaign seeking to raise awareness as part of our Stand Against Domestic Violence Initiative.

Simply reserve an empty chair in a public place alongside information about domestic abuse and violence against women. The empty chair acts as a powerful symbol that we are holding "A Place for Them" for the many women who have lost their lives but are not forgotten. Pictured above is a Red Chair display at the Ndawo Yakho women and children's shelter in South Africa.

Please also join us in unified prayer for all those who are currently living in abusive situations or recovering from the pain of past abuse.

A Prayer for Daily Bread

Give us this day our daily bread.

All good gifts of the earth come from your generous hands, God.

Yet, this abundance is not shared equally among us.

While some are satisfied, others are starving.

Women often become the victims of exploitation

because they are desperate to feed and care for their children.

If only we would be mindful that each and every one of us must pray:

Give us this day our daily bread.
