December 12, 2019
Both solemn and joyful – sometimes at the same time, the Service of Lessons and Carols evokes the meaning of the Advent season through radiant music from the Dayspring Chorale and selected readings by members of our staff and the Dayspring community. On December 15 at 7:00, we will present a Service of Nine Lessons and Carols that will include an updated liturgy, many beautiful pieces of music, and congregational singing of some much-loved Christmas hymns and carols. The concert is presented without charge and a freewill offering will be taken. Professional child care is available during the concert.
We host Family Promise, a temporary shelter for homeless families, the week starting December 15. Volunteers are needed for set up, tear down, helping with after dinner activities and overnighting. Please email Maria with questions or to volunteer.
We will host two information sessions for anyone interested in learning more about what it means to join the Tempe/Arcadia Launch Team this Sunday, December 15 at 11:30am and tomorrow, December 16, at 6:30pm, both in Room 112.
The labyrinth is a walking meditation. It is a tool that enables us, in the midst of the busyness of life, to be still and focus our thoughts and feelings. How appropriate this is for us during the month of December!! Because we are so busy and stressed is more than enough reason to slow down for a short time to re-create ourselves, to find a new purpose in our busyness, and to dwell on the true meaning for this time of year. Join Pastor Shirley at the entrance to the labyrinth on the patio this Sunday, December 15th, at 10:00am to learn more about this remarkable resource we have at Dayspring.
