December 14, 2022 | Employer Talent Pipeline 2022 Year in Review
Employer Talent Pipeline Friends,

It’s hard to believe we are now closing the door on 2022 already! Looking back, this was one of the most development-rich and focused years we’ve had in a long time. Companies, higher education institutions, training-focused organizations, up and coming talent and many more supporting organizations realize the importance of talent development here at home and are looking for more ways to interface.

Thank you for following along with us about some of the things going on in the region in the Employer Talent Pipeline! It was a big year for us and the region, with collaboration from many of you as we were incredibly honored to host the international convening of the STEM Learning Ecosystems Community of Practice (SLECoP) in June of this year. The event brought in 450+ leaders in STEM from as far away as Israel and many different partners in the region helped us pull off the one-in-a-lifetime opportunity to host the convening.

This fall, we warmly help welcome back the MiCareerQuest Middle Michigan career expo where 5,000 high school students learned about careers in different industries and got the chance to engage with employers. Retaining students in the region will continue to be important in the coming years and this event helps show students all that the region has to offer and that is something we’ve also promoted with our work-based learning (WBL) resources below.

And speaking of bright and blossoming youth, we couldn’t be any prouder of our own Chief Science Officers! Recently we launched a CSO Alumni group that is growing. We’re often blown away by what these kids do, the passion that they have for STEM and the impact they will make on the world! This year we’ve started sharing their accomplishments in the CSO Spotlight in this newsletter. If you missed any, or your organization is looking for a future STEM intern, those are linked below and be on the lookout for more next year.

We’ve had some recent discussions with STEM Forward (based out of Ann Arbor SPARK) and we are looking forward to continuing to focus on STEM internships with them next year, so look out for more information.

Have a blessed holiday season with your friends and family and thank you for being a champion of talent development in the region!

That's a wrap! What an amazing 2022 it was in the region for talent!
