St. Rita School inspires students in Pre-Kindergarten through grade eight to achieve academic excellence in a safe, nurturing and faith-filled Catholic environment.
We prepare students to be morally responsible, innovative thinkers who, in today’s technology-guided global community, live and share the Love of Christ.

Dear St. Rita Parents,

The theme for the third week of Advent is Joy. Joy is not the result of a positive outcome or circumstance in life. Rather, joy is something deeper and from the heart. It comes from living a life of gratitude. Being grateful is a decision and something that is practiced. When we can be grateful in all circumstances, then we can be joyful in all circumstances. Let’s all spend some time over the next few weeks showing gratitude and helping to bring more JOY to our world!!

Thank you to all those families who have contributed to the Christmas collection for our teachers and staff. These men and women work very hard every day to share a love of learning and a love of Christ with their students. Thank you so much for your generosity.

On behalf of the entire St. Rita School community may your family and friends have a happy and healthy Christmas holiday and experience the true meaning of Christmas--Jesus, the LIGHT of our Christmas, the JOY of our hearts and the HOPE of our world.

God Bless,
Mrs. Tiezzi

Our very warmest thanks to all who attended, volunteered for, and donated to our 1 st (and now-to-be-annual) Penuin Patch and Santa at St. Rita events! The treats and hot cocoa were delicious, the decorations lovely, music spectacular (special shout-out to Mr. Fortuna for top-notch Christmas caroling and sing-alongs!), crafts, letters, and photos with Santa charming, and book sale and holiday fair lucrative!

In this most hectic time of year, it brightened our hearts to see so many St. Rita parents, friends, and teachers coming together to offer our kids and community some Christmas fun and festivity.

Thank you so much again, and Merry Christmas to you all!

Divine Mercy Parish News
During Advent time we prepare for the birth of Jesus at Christmas. Each week during Advent a family lights the Advent wreath at all of the Masses. We are looking for a family for each Mass (Saturday at 4:00pm, Sunday 7:30, 9:00, 11:30) for the four weeks of Advent (12/1, 12/8, 12/15, 12/22). If you are interested in having your family light the Advent wreath at Mass, please let Megan Zinn know as soon as you can at  divine.mercy.ore@gmail.com ! Let me know the date and Mass you would like to volunteer for. First come, first serve! It is always a lot of fun for the children, and is a wonderful way to get them involved during the Advent season.

School age children (ages 5 and above) are invited to participate in the Christmas Eve 5:30 PM Family Mass at St. Stephen Church!  Please note the time and place.  As we prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus, the children will dress up like the people from the very first Christmas. They will help us remember the events of that miraculous night as we tell the story of our Savior's birth.
We are also looking for school age children (ages 10 and up) to participate as readers.  Again, this year we will have a Children’s Choir and a Teen Choir at this Mass.  More information on Children’s Choir practice dates will follow.

Does Your Company Offer Volunteer Grants?
Volunteer grant programs, also known as “Dollars for Doers” programs, are corporate giving programs created to encourage volunteerism in communities where employees live and work.
Through these programs, companies provide monetary grants to organizations where employees volunteer regularly.

Please take a moment and ask if your employer participates in a Volunteer Grants Program. Your time and talent at St. Rita School could turn into dollars for our school! Questions? Feel free to contact Joanne Bruno at  jbruno.stritaschool@gmail.com .
The Box Tops for Education program is changing the way we can earn cash for our school

Over the summer, participating brands began to change their packaging from the traditional Box Tops clip to the new Box Tops label. Going forward, instead of clipping from packages and checking expiration dates, all Box Tops will be earned digitally by scanning your receipt. The Box Tops for Education team has worked hard to build a NEW-and-improved, user-friendly Box Tops mobile app , available now. The new app features state-of-the-art technology that allows you to scan your store receipt, find participating products and instantly add Box Tops to our school's earnings online.

If you still have traditional Box Tops clips at home, make sure to send them to school. We will still earn cash for all clipped Box Tops until they expire. Better yet, you can “double dip” during the packaging transition by clipping traditional Box Tops AND scanning your store receipt containing participating products.
