Protecting your family from carbon monoxide

Keeping Oakville families safe at home is a top priority. Starting January 1, 2026, updated Ontario Fire Code rules require carbon monoxide alarms on every storey of homes with fuel-burning appliances, fireplaces, or attached garages.

These changes provide earlier warning and added peace of mind. Oakville Fire encourages residents to review the requirements and take action now.
