President's Message

Dear Fellow Members,

I hope you all had a wonderful THANKSGIVING with your families.

I want everyone to know that the November 17th, C.E. Professionals Day at the Star was filled with awesome business building ideas. I would like to THANK our sponsors: National Life Group, Columbus Life and Ohio National

Our Presenters: Scott Dial and Martin Gore – Guardian Life Insurance/Opes One Advisors and Phil Moroneso- Private Wealth Solutions

Martin Gore and Carrie Sayre did an excellent job organizing this event. I would encourage all of you to take advantage of the business building resources NAIFA Fort Worth provides. Our next C.E. will be the spring, date TBA.

Many of you may be familiar with the LUTCF designation. The LUTCF® is designed to help newer agents and advisors develop fundamental prospecting, selling, and practice management skills in addition to a thorough working knowledge of life and multi-line products and services. We are starting a new 6-week class in January. Please see the newsletter for information about registering for this class.

By now, most of you know that we will have a dues increase for all renewals and new members,b eginning January 2017. The current cost is $624 per year that will increase to $744 per year. If you are paying on a monthly basis the new monthly cost will be $ 62.00. This was voted on at the National Convention in September and was approved by a large majority.

If you evaluate and value what NAIFA does for you and me, the increase is minimal. I hope you will embrace this change and will know that NAIFA is working on your behalf.

The Career Service Award will be presented in February. The nominations committee will be seeking nominations. You will be asked to nominate a peer that you feel has honorably served the industry.

Your NAIFA board met early December to review the first half of the year and plan the second. We will also start laying the foundation for the following year. We value your feedback and ask for any ideas you might have ideas, we also ask that you consider serving on the board or a committee. I can tell you it has been an amazing opportunity both professionally and personally.

Do not miss the January meeting. Martin Gore has done a great job as our Program Chair. Our speaker is Charles Welsh. Charles is a managing director of business development at Vantage Investment Advisors. He will be speaking on “The Trump Effect” See the newsletter for more information about the speaker and his presentation. I wish you and your families a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year.
